About Me

Hey, I am Muskaan Bhatia!
I’m a graduate student at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. I enjoy my work, and I thrive in a fast-paced environment. I need to be moving, bouncing between tasks. Through my education and work experiences, I’ve learned much about the world of public relations and marketing.
One of the most cherished memories of my childhood is when my dad and I were watching the news together when I happened to ask him, "Why are these reporters allowed to go on the borders while we can't?" To which he replied that they have some powers which common people don't have: courage and responsibility to provide information. From that day, I looked up to them and dreamt of becoming one someday and made sure that I read newspapers every day and know what is happening around me.
When I grew up, everything changed except for my goal. I chose mass media studies as a subject in 11th so that I could prepare myself for the future. During school, my projects revolved around advertising that triggered my interest in this field for the first time. I eagerly wanted to gain more knowledge about what affects people's thinking both positively and negatively, their ever-changing behaviour, opinion, and choices.
During my graduation, I was introduced to different fields and branches in Journalism and Mass Communication and had great opportunities to explore each of them theoretically and practically. As part of my projects, I worked with live clients for campaigns related to advertising, public relations, and digital marketing. While creating the campaign, I realized my fascination for Advertising and Public Relations (PR), which developed slowly and steadily into a career option.
During my summer internship at the PR and Publicity department at IIFCO, I worked under the esteemed guidance of alumni of IIMC, who helped me learn and gain insights about PR scenario in India which I wouldn’t have acquired during my classroom studies. I realized the need to adapt my career angle to suit its ever-changing needs.
Being familiar with rhetorical principles and strategic media practices, as well as the experience I gained through several college projects and internships helped me in developing critical thinking, adaptability and the needed confidence to communicate with the Publics and target audience. I value the lessons I’ve received, and I look forward to learning more about this exciting field.
